The music started and everyone rose out of their seats and looked back.
Across the meadow, Valerie stood with both her own father and her soon to be father-in-law. Every step she took was filled with excitement. The entire day was filled with joy.
But there was something very, very special about this particular walk down the aisle.
It’s one of those moments that little girls dream about. Walking down the aisle to the person they love more than anything in this world. And it was one moment that Valerie very nearly didn’t get.
She hand made each and every flower. Every bouquet, boutonniere, and centerpiece. Each one took time, there was no cutting corners. And her wedding day got just a little closer each time she finished one. The excitement grew every time a flower was done. Until finally, her wedding day arrived.
It’s family that makes a house a home. And it’s family that really shows you just how powerful a legacy of love can be.
Seeing two sets of proud grandparents cooing and smiling at their sweet grandson. To see two parents snuggle close and just light up each time their son cracked a smile. And to see Ashlee and Jake embrace each other and giggle the entire evening brings one of my “reasons why” sharply into focus.
When Ashleys mom first got in touch with me about wedding photos I had no idea who the bride to be was. Then, a day or so later, after sending over more info I get an email from Ashley asking a very random and not at all wedding related question.

One of the perks that I get as a photographer, that I never really thought about when I first started, was how I get to watch so many amazing couples travel through so many different seasons of life.
There are a lot of little tiny details that go into making your day an absolute fairy tale.
And making sure some of the most VIP guests, such as your best friends, is no small task!

We’ve slowly been trying to give each room of our house a makeover. And we’ve managed to do two rooms since we bought it in 2014. So I was beyond thrilled when Kyle finally agreed to take a weekend and re-do the laundry room before I got too busy with weddings this year!
While there are most certainly other rooms that see more use that still need some TLC, the laundry room is one that is small enough to finish in a weekend and was supposed to be fairly easy.
The key word there is SUPPOSED TO.
We hit some glitches here and there – but all in all we were still able to get the entire project done in just 2 1/2 days!
Some couples, like Chip and Joanna Gaines are “cool” enough to not even own a TV.
Others, like us, turn ours on every night. I work really hard to never turn it on during the day. Lord knows I don’t need another distraction! But as soon as Kyle walks in he loves to see if there’s anything new, or just re-watch our favorites. But every once in a while we get stuck in a rut. And much like the good-ol days of satellite, Netflix and Hulu can feel like 200 channels with nothing good to watch!
Because of my job I tend to mark the passing of time by season, rather than month. If it’s raining it’s spring. If it’s 80 and sunny, it’s spring and if it snows, it just might be spring. Colorado can never seem to make up her mind which season is which.
