Liberty Cap. It’s one of the hardest hikes on the Colorado National Monument. And lets just say he wasn’t really used to big hikes like that. But she took him anyway. After all, she had agreed to show Brandon the sights that day. He went along with it, but it couldn’t have been easy. Liberty Cap is NEVER easy.
But, like anything, when you put enough sweat, heart and effort into something you always come out on top. They made it to the top that day. And even survived a less than perfect trip back down. But for him, that was it. He was hooked. And not necessarily on the hike, but on the girl that helped him get there. The theme of crossing mountains continued over the next two years as they managed a long distance relationship but finally, FINALLY! They are now both here in Grand Junction and getting married this June!
It seems only fitting that we all met up one more time in the Monument to take their engagement photos. I can’t think of a better place for them. Cat and Brandon, I had so much fun with you both! From memories of falling into cactus, to realizing none of us are very good at making dinner plans, to never letting the cold dampen your smiles – I cant think of two people I would rather have spent the evening with! I can’t wait to meet all of the friends and family that you told me about and I am seriously counting down the days until you say I DO! and and we get to do this all again!
Until then, happy hiking you two!
