I’m pretty sure snail mail is the best thing ever. In a time where one word texts and quick likes on Instagram are the norm, it really says something when someone fills the mailbox at the end of your drive.
And it’s even better when what’s waiting inside is the key to a box. And in the box, an engagement ring. Or a ring pop.
My husband has known Joe for years, They met on a Myspace group for people in our area who had a Jeep Cherokee and like to go four-wheeling. Yeah, Myspace…
Joe has always been a great guy, and when he finally met Jessica, we all knew it was only a matter of time. It became a running joke in our group of friends that he was going to propose with a ring pop, and that they had to work to make it last their entire lives. And even though we all knew Joe, we figured he was kidding.
That is, until he actually did it.
He first left a key for Jess to find, and once she did he spent the day dodging questions until he walked in the house that evening with a box. Still pretending he didn’t know what was going on he had her open it. Inside was a ring box, with, you guessed it, a ring pop! It was then that he asked her to marry him, and don’t worry, he gave her the real deal right after that!
For those of us who are lucky enough to know these two, it’s a story that truly sums them up. They love a good joke, are always up for a laugh and are two of the sweetest people we have the pleasure of calling dear friends.
We can’t wait to be with them this fall as they make it official! Kyle as a groomsman, and me behind the camera. I can’t think of two people more deserving of a super sweet and amazing happily ever after.
Joe and Jess, thank you so much for your amazing friendship, your overflowing kindness, your up-for-anything attitude, and your endless supply of laughter. We can’t wait for October!
